1. Why is IRistorante.it useful?

IRistorante.it is the new and fun way to read and share reviews of restaurants and clubs, special offers, and find new friends and people who have the same interests. It offers you as a consumer, the possibility to make informed decisions, when you go to serve meals, go out with friends or simply, discover which are the best places in your area.

2. Who uses IRistorante.it?

Anyone can use this site. It is especially useful for locals to inform customers in their area, or for people who have just moved to the area, for tourists visiting a city, as well as for anyone who wants to find other impressions of a place, or a service of a restaurant, before going to eat there, to be an active member of a lively and fun online community.

3. Is the use of the IRistorante website free?

Yes, we are 100% free for you, the consumer!

Local reviews

4. Who can see my profile and reviews?

Your public profile and the reviews you post on the site can be viewed by all visitors. We are sure that this way it is more fun, but the most important thing is that the site helps you find people with the same interest, in your area. It also provides greater trust in the community of IRistorante reviewers, when visitors can see the profile of the person who posted a review of a place.

5. Can a restaurant owner contact me after I review their business?

The owner of a place or a restaurant can answer you privately, through his owner account. We believe that an owner can give a response to every review that involves the place he owns, but more important is the communication between the owners and the customers, and that all the customers learn in this way that the owners are interested in their business and listen to what you have to say.

6. What is considered an excellent review!

We believe that an excellent review is one that is written from the heart and with vision, and that offers advice (suggestions) and useful information, which will help people who go to that place, to create a realistic idea about the restaurant or place you wrote about. It is always very useful to mention some tips and describe things that will be useful to others who visit the places (for example, special offers available, the best dishes you can eat, the type of food you liked the most).

7. What can I write in my reviews?

It's entirely your choice...we have some recommendations for you to consider, when writing a review, or when rating a venue's services

Don't be afraid to be funny, but try to be kind too!

Apart from all these indications, we strongly advise you to include in the reviews all the details that you think could be useful for other customers.
We advise you to read the terms and conditions of use , which also clarify other issues in relation to the content entered on the site.

8. Does the restaurant delete reviews?

No. That said, in some cases, a member of our group is able to remove a review (this usually happens when someone does not respect the terms and conditions of use ). In this case, we always send an email to the person who made the review, to announce this action and to explain the reason for the deletion.

9. Can I remove a review or edit a review after it has been posted on the site?

You can edit and delete an existing review of your account on the website. You can edit a review in the "Edit Reviews" section. This link will only be available to review authors.

10. What is a Hall Of Fame review?

Have you visited or eaten somewhere that is simply outstanding? Is that place high on your favorites? If so, a member of our team can induct that restaurant or venue into the Hall of Fame. All Hall Of Fame applications are manually reviewed by a site administrator.

To be eligible for the Hall Of Fame list, a venue must have at least 10 reviews and a total score of at least 40 points. The user review must be reasonably written and useful to site members.

| A venue with Hall Of Fame status receives an "R" logo. If the total score drops below a 4, the venue is automatically removed from the Hall Of Fame list. To be in the list, the venue must be nominated again, by a site member.

11. How can I be sure my review is on Facebook and Twitter?

After adding a review, go to the review page and immediately after the review text is a "Share" button. Hover your mouse over the button and you will be given links to Facebook and Twitter, as well as many other sites. Click on one of them and follow the steps to add your review to Facebook or Twitter.

12. If I find a review offensive, can I report it?

Please click on the "Report" link, which is available for each review.

13. What is "Confidence Indicator", on a user's profile page?

On the left side of the page, in a user's profile, there is a "Confidence Indicator" section. This indicator is a very important element, with which the community of members can give their trust for a particular user and help other users to contribute to choosing the best advice and information about a place.
As an IRistorante user, you can vote on the "Confidence Indicator" of another member. When voting, please take into account all the reviews added for that user, their content, and also the level of their activity.

Your account

14. How can I verify my IRistorante.it account?

Once you register on the site, a confirmation email is automatically sent to the email address you used in the registration form. This email contains a single link to a page, where the user logs in to the site and then enters other information for his profile.

After confirming the account, the user is taken to a page where he can invite other friends to register on the IRistorante.it site.

15. How do I change my profile photo?

You can change (or download) a new profile photo on the left side of your account, using the "Change your photo" link.

16. How can I change my account preferences?

On the left side of your member page, you need to click on the "Account Setup" link. Here you can manage:

Newsletter preferences and news (opt-in opt-out)
email notification preferences, for site activity
product and services you wish to be notified about
deactivate the account
the option to allow a venue to have a dialogue with you (for example: allowing a restaurant you have reviewed to send you an email)

17. How do I deactivate my account?

On the left side of your member page you need to click on "Account Settings". Here, a user can deactivate the account, using the link "Do you want to deactivate the account?"

18. Can I change my email address?

Yes. To change your email address, go to the " Account Settings " section (you can find a link for "Account Settings" at the top of every page, after entering your user account), enter the new email address and click "Update". From there you can use the account with the new email address, and as a user the new email address.

19. Who can see my profile?

Your public profile is visible to all members and visitors of the site. This ensures transparency of reviews, which are entered by real people.

20. Who can see my name?

Your first name and last initial will appear on the site, except for your account. For more information on how your information is used, please access the " Privacy Policy " section.

21. Can I have multiple accounts?

No. This is against the trust of our site and we will remove all duplicate accounts when we find them.

22. What does "Add offer to favorites" mean?

If you find an offer that you would like to publish and recommend to your friends or other users, through your account, you can select the " Add offer to favorites " link, on the left side of the page.

23. What is "Follow all activity on this restaurant"?

With this option you can receive notifications with news about a place of interest to you, you can be aware when a user adds a new review, a new comment is added or a special offer appears at the restaurant.

24. How do I delete a friend?

In your account, click on the "Friends" section. Select the friend you want to delete and use the "Delete Friend" button to remove the user from your friends list.

Tags

25. What is a tag?

Think of a tag as a word or phrase that describes a category. Tags can help your friends quickly find what they're looking for on your site, but they can also help you easily remember places or reviews to find them later.

26. How do I use tags?

A tag is a word or phrase (sentence) you can add to a review that gives it a more personal meaning, helps you group places and services under the same name, and helps others find your review.
For example, you can add the following tags to a restaurant review: "romantic atmosphere", "good pizza", "special appetizer", so you can find them later, or you can tag an entertainment venue with "fun" or "live music", to help other members find the venue more easily when they're looking for something specific.

27. How do I add a tag?

You can add tags to a review when you write it, in the "Enter tags..." section.

28. How can I remove a tag I added?

You can delete a tag you added in the " Edit Reviews " section by editing the review where you want to delete a tag.

The photos

29. How do I add photos to a review or to a restaurant I've already visited?

On each restaurant page you can find a link with " Upload Photos ". When you want to upload pictures of a restaurant, also add a review in which you explain to other members, on what occasion you took the uploaded photos. To upload multiple pictures at the same time, use the link " Click here to upload multiple photos ", available immediately, under the section of uploading photos.

30. How do I add a photo to my profile?

On the user page, on the left side there is a link "Change your photo". Choose a photo from your computer and then press the "Submit" button.

31. What kind of photos can I upload to the site?

You can upload any photos that are not offensive or photos that are not copyrighted. Also, the photos you upload must be linked to the venue you are uploading them to.

Points

32. What are points?

Every time a member performs an action he earns points and these points are added to his account. Each user can see the points available at a moment, in his account.

The actions for which a user can earn points are listed below:

For example, when you add a review with a photo, if you share a video link with your friends, you earn 70 points. If you are the first person to add the review, you win 80 points!

33. How much are your points worth?

The points that accumulate are all in the IRistorante currency. Like all currencies, the value of the points, in relation to other currencies, will fluctuate.
At this point, the value of IRistorante.it points, for the euro is: €1 = 125 IRistorante points.

The points accumulated on the site can be used for exclusive discounts, which IRistorante has negotiated for its users.

34. Where can I see all my points?

On the left side of your account menu, you can see the total number of points you have currently accumulated.

35. How can I use the points I have accumulated?

On the offer details page, each offer has a point value, starting from 0 (free) and up to 20,000 points. The number of points for each offer is noted under the image of the offer details page.
Let's see an example:

Alessandra has accumulated 5,500 points in the activities and companies she has developed on the site (point 32 above). She likes an offer on the site, where a restaurant in her area offers a discount of 40 euros for a romantic dinner for two (worth 5,000 points).
Alessandra goes to the offer details page, clicks on the "Take advantage of the offer" button, where she will be transferred to a page where she can list the voucher for the special offer. The voucher will be personalized with her name. The points from her account, which have been used, will be deducted automatically.

Points accumulated through abuse on the IRistorante.it system cannot be used to purchase special offers on the site.
Example: offering the same recommendation to a person more than once, sending multiple invitations to the same person, introducing repetitive reviews or comments.

36. Why are some offers free?

Offers marked as free are offers that are provided by the venues and are also present in other places, not just exclusive offers on IRistorante.it.

37. What happens if I don't have enough points?

If you try to buy an offer, and the required number of points for the offer is higher than the number of points available in the account, it is not possible to use the button that gives you access to list the voucher for the offer. We recommend that you enter more reviews or comments, recommendations and invitations for friends, to reach the number of points required for the offer.

38. Is there a relationship between the offers and the reviews and ratings entered for a place?

Absolutely not. We have made it clear from the beginning that any establishment can purchase advertising space on the IRistorante site, regardless of the content of reviews or ratings existing on the site. If the establishment or business is not satisfied with the level of reviews on the site, they are not obligated to continue purchasing advertising space on the site.

Privacy

39. What does the IRistorante.it website do with my personal data?

We take privacy seriously and do not agree with spam, as much as you do. We display public information in a limited way, so that a user can evaluate a review or a place, that you have made. If you receive a harassing message, an abuse or a message that contains violation of the terms and conditions of the site, send an email to info@iristorante.it .

40. Can other users see where I live?

No. Other users can only see the area where you live, and not exactly where you live.

41. How can I add someone as my friend?

To add someone as a friend, go to their public profile page and click the "add as a friend" link. If you want to find other people to add as friends, use the "Reporters" section, where you can search for someone by location or by email address.

42. Can I see who added me as a friend?

Yes, when someone adds you as a friend, we send you an email to let you know that they want to be your friend.
The email also contains a link to the profile of the person who added you as a friend and gives you the option to add them to your friends list as well (if you want).

43. How can I find other people in my area?

In the " Users/Friends " section you can search for IRistorante.it users from your city and area. There is no need to add everyone as friends, but it is a very useful and fun way to find people who go to the same places as you, and above all, why they go there.

44. Do I have to know someone before adding them to my friends list?

Absolutely not. Usually, IRistorante.it users become friends because they have similar tastes or because they like how another user wrote a review. It is a mutual sympathy on a positive or negative review of an IRistorante user.

45. Someone I don't know added me as a friend... what is this?

Yes, it happens all the time: maybe that person is a big fan of your reviews and wants to know when you write more reviews or comments. Don't forget, there's no obligation to add them to your friends list too (only if you want, of course!).

Guides and review lists

46. What are the guides?

A member can compile a list of his reviews. A good example of a guide could be: "My Favorite Restaurants from Milan" or "Chinese Restaurants in Milan". Each guide consists of one user's guides. The user can add a review for several guides at the same time, so that his review can be in the "My Favorite Restaurants from Milan" guide at the same time as in the "Chinese Restaurants in Milan" guide.

47. Where are the guides and reviews displayed?

Full details of a complete list of reviews are displayed on a guide's details page. A member's added guides are listed in the "Manage Guides" section of your IRistorante account. The most highly rated guides will be featured on the site's main page. If a review for a venue is in a guide, the venue's details page displays a list of guides that contain that review. Guides can be sorted by date, and other members can add comments to a review guide.

Newsletters

48. How do I sign up for the IRistorante website newsletter?

Members can subscribe to the IRistorante Newsletter when registering on the site. In the "Account Configuration" section, a member can unsubscribe from any newsletter we send. In this way, a user can opt to receive the newsletter, in the same configuration section.
