An Unexpectedly Nice Place...
I've always been a fan of haute cuisine since my brother and my grandfather have worked in the business for years, but when I want to have an unpretentious meal with some friends, I generally tend to levitate towards places like Sakara. The people there are sincerely friendly and they want you to have a nice time, the food is hearty, tasty and accessible (even if decisively not "fancy") and the beer flows freely like in some strange, Oriental version of some Irish heaven. I fact, this would be my main criticism to this restaurant, namely that it does not know if it's suppose to be an Arab restaurant, an Asian restaurant or an Irish/Celtic pub. The menu contains Asian dishes (that are actually quite nice), such as the Vietnamese pork, but the design is Middle Eastern and the bar looks completely Irish. If you are willing to get past all of this, I think you will have a lot of fun here, as long as you are searching for some simple and unpretentious fun.
